Enticing People to Walk Up Three Flights of Stairs
The owner of this design firm–Kathy Geissler Best–came to us about 4 weeks before her firm was set to participate in the 2012 San Francisco Decorator Showcase.
The problem she wanted us to solve? Making sure that she got noticed in a crowded field, one where the press and bloggers tends to write only about the participants who spend the big bucks to design rooms on the first or second floor. (The room our client designed was located 3 floors up. And in a decorator showcase room it is all about location.)
Open Marketing’s response. Very quickly we put together a budget- and time-conscious plan. Central to what we did was recognizing that the press and bloggers were not familiar with KGB Associates and they needed to know more before they would give the firm the coverage it deserved. “KGB Associates” quickly transformed into “KGB Interior Design”. We morphed the website so it could support bigger format, more glorious photos of Kathy’s work. Finally, we developed post cards and other collateral around the show itself.
Visibility up. Check.
Media traction. Check.
A firm that has momentum? Only time will tell.
