This book by William Joyce, a professor at the Tuck School of Business, and Nitan Nohria, a professor at the Harvard Graduate School of Business, and Bruce Roberson, Managing Director, McKinsey & Company, introduces a formula for business success the authors calls 4+2. The authors fielded a 5-year study of 160 different companies and looked at 200 potential drivers of success. In the end, they isolated 8 drivers of success. The premise of the book is that 4 of primary management practices must be present for success plus any 2 of the 4 secondary management practices
