We’ve been busy – DIFFASF.org launches
Up until this year, the DIFFASF.org website has not been database driven. Design Industries Foundation Fighting AIDS is one of the largest providers of funding to HIV/AIDS service and education programs in the United States. The San Francisco organization is the local affiliate of the national organization, which is based in New York. In prior years, the local affiliate in San Francisco leveraged the website provided by its national parent. This year, DIFFA SF decided it was imperative to include membership functionality in its site and broke with this tradition, relying upon Open Marketing to build a state-of-the-art website. Wealthfront came to us with an interesting challenge. How to build their blog out so it looked consistent with their site but had all the bells and whistles necessary to promote sharing and grow a strong readership base as the company looked to expand its guest editorial program. We typically don’t get involved in designing a blog ONLY. Most of our clients who need a blog need a whole web design as well. In any event, you can see the before and after for yourself. As with all of our work, this particular project reflects tight collaboration between ourselves and the client.

Content Rules is a professional services firm that like us is in the content business. Unlike us, they focus on the technical content needs of the Global 1000. Recently, Val Swisher, CEO & Founder of the firm joined the board of Translators without Borders. To celebrate, we didn’t throw a party. Instead, we sent a videographer to Paris, France (!) to capture Lori Thicke, one of the founders of Translators without Borders, on the importance of Content Rules and the work they have done for this organization to date. Every dollar counts for this struggling non profit (I’m on the board here) which helps low-income homeowners rebuild their homes, allows the elderly to age in place, and rebuilds community facilities. Without Rebuilding Together many low-income families would be forced to give up their homes, moving into nursing homes or abandoning their homes to foreclosure procedures for lack of funds to make fundamental repairs.
